It’s the all star weekend! This is one of the most awaited days of NBA fans here in the Philippines. It was really exciting, imagine this is the first time you get to see your favorite basketball player play LIVE! No wonder tickets were SOLD OUT on the first day it was released and scalpers were able to sell tickets three times higher than its original value.
Seeing the players jump that high is pretty amazing. In this game, NBA all stars had had to play harder compared to their previous game. Kobe had 17 points and 5 rebounds during this game in keep them on the lead. For me the putback slam of Kevin Durant and dunk of Mcgee is really cool.
I was also thrilled on how the NBA players acted when they saw Congressman Manny Pacquiao. They even had time out so that they can approach Manny Pacquiao. They shook hands and even asked for a photo op with him. Cool right? International superstars admire one of our own country men.
At the end of the game the NBA players took their jerseys and shoes off and gave them away. I really envy the people who were able to get the NBA players’ giveaways.
I must say a great game indeed. Even though Smart Gilas lost against the NBA All Star Team with 98-89 as the final score, Smart Gilas was able to limit the NBA All-Stars' total output below 100 points. It shows that we have seen an improvement from Smart Gilas compared to their FIBA Champions Cup 2011 performance. Besides who wouldn’t be starstruck when you’re competing against the best players in the world today.
This would not be possible without MVP! Thank you Manny V. Pangilinan for making this game possible! I hope this event will happen again. =)
